Film bodies take stand against terror: FWICE and IFTDA ban work with Pakistani artists, Vow to block Fawad Khan’s film in india

Two major organizations associated with the Indian film industry - Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) - have taken a strong stand against the recent terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Both the organizations have taken several strict decisions while strongly condemning the attack.

FWICE has issued orders to all its members not to do any kind of work with Pakistani artists in any corner of the world. This decision is being seen as a reaffirmation of the ban imposed in 2019 after the Pulwama attack, when the organization banned working with Pakistani artists across the country.

The Federation has also made it clear that it will make every effort to stop the release of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan's film 'Abir Gulaal' in India. In this context, FWICE's chief advisor and IFTDA President Ashok Pandit gave a statement saying that this attack has not happened only on Kashmir, but on the whole of India, and it is necessary to respond to it on the cultural front as well.

It is clear from these reactions of the film industry that now concrete steps are being taken against terrorism not only at the level of security or politics, but also on creative and cultural plat

forms.
