Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji is once again going to return to the big screen with 'Mardaani 3'. In 'Mardaani' released in 2014, Rani played the role of a courageous female police officer, which was well received by the audience. The film performed brilliantly at the box office and was followed by 'Mardaani 2' in 2019, which also achieved amazing success. Now the audience is eagerly waiting for 'Mardaani 3'.

In early 2024, it was reported that work on 'Mardaani 3' has started. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the shooting of the film has started in Mumbai earlier this year. The film is being made under the banner of Yash Raj Films and will be released on the occasion of Holi 2026, i.e. on 27 February 2026.

This time, actress Janaki Bodiwala will also be seen in an important role along with Rani Mukerji in the film. Janaki caught everyone's attention with her strong performance in the recently released film 'Shaitan'. Rani and Aditya Chopra were so impressed with Janaki's work that they have given her the role of an important police officer in 'Mardaani 3'. Janaki was earlier active in Gujarati cinema and made her Bollywood debut through 'Shaitan'.

It is being told that the story of 'Mardaani 3' will be more powerful and effective than the first two parts. Like before, this time too the film will be based on a serious social issue, which Rani's character will highlight in her own way. One after the other big films are going to be released under the banner of Yash Raj Films - 'Saiyaara' will hit the theatres on July 18, 'War 2' on August 2, 'Alpha' on December 25 and 'Mardaani 3' on February 27, 2026.
