Avinash Tiwary reveals the time he realised that he wanted to be an actor, says 'I felt very close to it'

Avinash Tiwary has had one of the most inspiring careers in Indian cinema. Over the years, the actor has carved a niche of his own by making careful choices of projects that not only carry a great recall value, but also leave an impact. Having starred in acclaimed films and series like Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, Madgaon Express, Bambai Meri Jaan, and more, Avinash Tiwary has solidified himself as a one-of-a-kind actor, who is leaving a mark with sheer hardwork and passion for acting. However, did you know that he never wanted to become an actor?

"I have enjoyed films, but they were always a source of entertainment for me. It was never inspiring for me to be an actor. I was brought up in a very conventional setup, and never wanted to be an actor. Education was a family thing, and I was told 'that was what you need to do, this (films) is all distraction'; and I had that kind of viewpoint about the film industry," shared Avinash Tiwary.

He added, "I was doing my engineering, and I had a chance to be away from home. While I was studying, one day I started asking questions to myself, 'What do I want to do?' Because I wanted to play cricket, but that was just a desire. People would say 'Do what you love', but you also need to be good at it. So, I wasn't good at athletics, but I loved playing it. So when I questioned myself about what I wanted to do, I realised I wanted to act. I have never done it, but I felt close to it. I think it was a very stupid thing to have happened at that point of time."

Meanwhile, Avinash Tiwary is reuniting with Imtiaz Ali for a web series, O Saathi Re. Poised to be an intense romantic drama, the series is directed by Arif Ali, and it will see him sharing the screen space with Aditi Rao Hydari and Arjun Rampal. Avinash's fans are eagerly waiting to know more about his role, and what he has to offer in O Saathi Re.
