After entering the film industry, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor dated each other for some time. However, their relationship soon cracked. It is said that Deepika caught Ranbir red-handed cheating. During a conversation, Deepika Padukone spoke openly about her relationship with 'Cosmopolitan' magazine.

In this conversation, Deepika had said, "What is the point of being in a relationship when it is just a game? In such a situation, it is better to stay alone and have fun. But not everyone thinks like this. Maybe that's why I also get sad sometimes. I made a fool of giving him (Ranbir) a second chance, although he apologized. People around me were already warning me that he is still not stable. After this, I caught him red-handed. It did take time to come out of that relationship, but I handled myself. Now there was no question of returning to that old ship; that ship had sunk." 

Deepika further said, "When I was cheated for the first time, then I felt that maybe there is something lacking in me or in our relationship. But when cheating becomes a habit for someone, then one should understand that the problem is in him. I gave a lot in my relationship, without expecting anything in return. But infidelity ended everything. After this, I taught myself that one should not get too attached to any person or thing. I improved myself after the breakup."

With time, both of them moved forward in their lives and chose new paths. Deepika Padukone married actor Ranveer Singh, while Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot with Alia Bhatt. Today, both the couples are very happy in their married life and have also become parents.
