Akshay Kumar launches trailer of the film Nanak Shah Fakir

It is an inspirational film based on the life and work of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak, and will ring in Baisakhi as it will release on April 13. The movie is produced by Harinder Sikka of Gurbani Media Pvt Ltd.

The movie actually released in 2015. However, within a week of its release, the film was banned by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

Well, it is all set to release once again with the kind support of Akshay. Kumar said at the launch, "I wear a turban for my movie Kesari. I feel very proud of it whenever I wear it."

He spoke about the film saying, "If you were in my place, wouldn't you also support it? There is only one God. Everyone is equal for him. I believe that.

 

Akshay also spoke about the girl child campaign. He said, "Girls are rising in India. Soon we will have a Beta Bachao (save the boy child) campaign.

 

A.R. Rahman, Resul Pookutty and Gulzar have contributed to the music, sound and lyrics of this film. The film's original score has been composed by the highly celebrated composer Tuomas Kantelinen. Its songs include one sung by Grammy Award winning group White Sun and its famous singer Gurujas Khalsa of Los Angeles.
