You would have thought, with them wanting to work together since Saawariya in 2007, with the announcement of their collaboration in Inshallah, Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali would just get on with it and begin shooting. But not really. PeepingMoon.com has come to learn that the actor actually did a look test first for the renowned and finicky filmmaker at Mehboob Studio yesterday.
It being Holi, no shoots were happening anywhere, and everybody in Bollywood was celebrating the festival. But Salman reportedly went across to Mehboob Studio and did a look test for Inshallah. The buzz is that SLB will take about nine months to work on the story and they will begin shooting Inshallah (which title SLB has already registered) only in 2020. It is being slated for release on Eid.
Not much is known about Inshallah beyond it being a romantic film which is a genre SLB is most comfortable with. It will reportedly recreate the magic the filmmaker showcased in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam 20 years ago with Salman, Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The big news after the Salman and SLB collaboration, is that Alia Bhatt has been cast in the film too. This will be her first film with the actor and filmmaker. Alia has expressed excitement on Twitter at the opportunity. Salman, too, said he was looking forward to working with the actress. It will be interesting to see her pairing with him. The last time Alia was cast opposite a senior actor was when Gauri Shinde successfully had Alia acting with Shah Rukh Khan in Dear Zindagi in 2016.
