Nana Patekar was given a clean chit by the Mumbai Police in the sexual harassment case levied against him by Tanushree Dutta. Now the actress who started the #MeToo movement last year has expressed her displeasure and anger at Mumbai Police and said that it was a botched investigation. She also termed the police force as corrupt. She said that she is severely disappointed in the police system. She also alleged that her witnesses were threatened. Tanushree further said that because Alok Nath got a clean chit in his case so Nana’s name has been cleared, but she has resorted to taking the matter further and will not bow down.
Tanushree said that Mumbai Police knowingly saved Nana in the case. She demanded that why was Nana not questioned on the issue? Why did the senior officials dissuade me from lodging an FIR and why did the Investigative Officer try to convince me that nothing will come out of the matter as Nana is a big celebrity. She even demanded that why was an FIR not lodged against Raj Thackeray after he threatened her. She even said that she tried to get in touch with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis but to no avail.
Tanushree received a crushing blow when Mumbai Police told her that they could not find any evidence against Nana in the sexual harassment case. The police have filed a B-Summary in the case. A B-Summary means that the police were unable to find any evidence against the accused. In this scenario, there could no longer be any further investigation in the case.
Last year, Tanushree had filed a case against Nana for sexual harassment and intimidation. She had claimed that the veteran actor had misbehaved with her on the sets of the film Horn Ok Pleasss ten years back. She was supposed to do a special song for the film but due to his alleged misbehaviour she had to leave the film.
