Exclusive: He was completely different from his on screen personality, even he had an interesting love story: Amrish Puri's grandson Vardhan Puri on his 87th birth anniversary

Amrish Puri - whenever we hear this name a strong voice and a great personality comes to our mind. Amrish Ji, who gave Bollywood several blockbuster films, must have turned 87 years old on June 22. It is his birth anniversary today and even though he is not with us today, his ace films, irreplaceable characters and strong performances have kept him alive in our hearts. On this special occasion, team PeepingMoon reached out to Mr. Puri's grandson Vardhan Puri, who himself is going to make his Bollywood debut soon. Vardhan revealed some interesting things about his grandfather Amrish and also talked about his love life. 

Amrish Puri, who used to play the role of a villain in Bollywood films, was actually the opposite in real life. Vardhan revealed how his dadu met his dadi (Urmila Puri). He said, "Dadu met Dadi at an insurance company where Dadu used to work as a clerk. They fell in love with each other soon after. But like every love story, even this one had a twist. Dadi was South Indian and Dadu was Punjabi and when their families got to know about their liking for each other, they did not like it and were against their marriage. But soon dadi and dadu convinced their family members and got married with their blessings."

Vardhan also talked about Amrish Puri's struggling days and said, "Dadu has struggled a lot in life. He wanted to become a hero but ended up becoming a villain. The one who supported him throughout was my Dadi. When Ddau was struggling in the industry, Dadi used to work overtime to support the family because Dadu became successful at the age of 41. Dadu always used to say 'Mai hero banu ya na banu lekin iss ghar ki hero toh meri biwi hi hai'." 

Talking about Dadu Amrish's personal life, Vardhan said, "Dadu used to make sure to spend a lot of time with us. He used to shoot for 18-20 hours but still come home and spend time with us. he used to make us laugh a lot. He used to tell his film dialogues and entertain us. I can never forget that time."
