Aditya Pancholi was imposed with section 376 in a rape case charge on Thursday evening. Section 376 states that whoever commits rape shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which shall not be less than seven years but which may be for life or for a term which may extend to ten years and shall also be liable to fine. In 2017, a leading Bollywood actress and her sister claimed on multiple public platforms including national TV that Aditya misused the actress when she was in an abusive relationship with him over a decade back. Post that, the actress' sister had also filed an application in the Versova police station stating that her sister was exploited and abused by Aditya. The entire fiasco led Aditya and Zarina to file a counter-application in the same police station.
Now, Mumbai Police has given an official statement in this exclusive video. Police states, "Aditya Pancholi has been imposed with section 376, 328, 384, 41, 342, 323, 506 under IPC after a 36-year-old actress filed a complaint against him. The charge against Aditya states that from 204-2009 he used drugs to make the actress unconscious and rape her. He also clicked nude pictures of the actress and later blackmailed her for money. Aditya demanded a sum of Rs.1 crore and blackmailed that he would show the pictures of her family and friends. An amount of Rs 50 lakhs was then given to Pancholi by the actress. When the actress tried to lodge a police complaint, Aditya physically abused her and harassed her. Now, the actor has been booked for rape and extortion."
