The wicked Mumbai monsoon has rained down on Akshay Kumar’s holiday. PeepingMoon.com learned that Bollywood’s action superstar was reportedly forced to abort travel plans to London last night because of the heavy downpour. He was all packed and ready to go and then the skies opened up with torrential rain and botched his plan.
Akshay, who habitually takes a break with his family in between films, was in fact sitting in the aircraft bound for London at the Mumbai airport last night when the flight was wisely called off at the nth minute because of bad weather. Soon after, the airport shut down when the rain began to lash the city threateningly.
The actor, who just finished a long and grueling action schedule for Rohit Shetty’s cop universe thriller Sooryavanshi in Hyderabad and will return for promotional activity on R Balki’s Mission Mangal in August, planned a month-long holiday in London. But the rain delayed his departure by a day.
Another actor might have fretted and fumed at this unexpected change of plan but Akshay is believed to have returned home laughing. He now plans to leave for London tomorrow and will spend today watching the India-Bangladesh match being played at Birmingham.
London is not the getaway for the kind of energetic outdoor sports that Akshay likes to indulge in when on a holiday. Nor is the actor the kind to go visiting old historical monuments, churches and palaces. But London is where his son Aarav is studying and what better way for father and son to catch up than this? They might even catch the tail-end of the World Cup live at the stadiums.
