Emraan Hashmi's last release didn't perform at the box office as expected but that hasn't seem fazed him even a bit as the actor continues shooting for films back-to-back. Since the release of Why Cheat India in January, Emraan has completed the shooting for Netflix series Bard of Blood and recently wrapped up Rumi Jaffrey's Chehre as well. While the Shah Rukh Khan-backed web-series premieres on 27th September on Netflix, Chehre is scheduled to release on February 21 next year. However, amidst all this, there's been no update on Emraan's The Body despite the shooting being completed last year itself.
Now, Peepingmoon.com has learned that Emraan's delayed suspense thriller which is a remake of the Spanish film The Body will release in the last quarter of this year. "The principal shooting was wrapped up last July itself in over 40 days' start-to-finish schedule in Mumbai and Mauritius but there were still some portions required to be shot. We filmed those sequences this April at Goregaon's Filmistan Studio and it's completed now. The film is in the post-production and will release in November or December," a source from the production team told us.

Apparently, the makers were earlier planning to release the film in June but then was postponed as the director Jeethu Joseph got busy with his South commitments. "Emraan was also shooting for Chehre with Amitabh Bachchan, and Rishi Kapoor who plays an investigative officer in the film is currently in New York for treatment so it would have been difficult for all to take out the time for its promotion in June."
Talking about the film, The Body is a murder mystery cum horror film which deals with a story of a detective who's investigating the case of a woman's body missing from a morgue. Expected to be a taut and crisp thriller, the film also stars Sobhita Dhulipala and South actress Vedika. It marks the Hindi directorial debut of Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph who has helmed some remarkable films including Drishyam.
