A few days back we exclusively told you that Sanjay Dutt will be playing the lead in Viacom18 Studio's next comedy franchise, Doghouse which will be directed by Yamla Pagla Deewana fame Sameer Karnik. We also revealed that many big actors have been approached to join the cast in this multi-starrer and that Indian cricketer MS Dhoni was also offered a cameo role. Following up on the project, we have now got the clarity on the rest of the cast.
Peepingmoon.com has learned that Suniel Shetty and R Madhavan have been finalized to play the pivotal characters alongside Dutt in this fun family film. Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has also joined the cast, however, it's yet unknown what characters they will be playing in this comedy-drama. "The film will have one more principal male actor and few leading heroines but no one has been locked besides Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, R Madhavan, and Paresh Rawal," a source close to the project told us.
Said to be a comic take on the Academy Award-winning Hollywood film, No Country For Old Men (2007), Doghouse will go on floors in January 2020 in Abu Dhabi. The makers are apparently planning to mount the film on a big scale with some technicians expected to be brought from the Middle East. Around 65 days shooting schedule has been planned in the UAE capital city.
Doghouse, interestingly, brings Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty together onscreen for the 10th time after the successful reunion in films like Kaante (2002), LOC Kargil (2003), Dus (2005), Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007) and No Problem (2010) among others. It'll be a reunion for Paresh Rawal as well who has shared screen space with both actors in the past. As for R Madhavan, Doghouse is going to be his first collaboration with Sanju and Anna.
