We don’t know what Hrithik Roshan is doing, and whether he has signed on for any film after YRF’s super hit War of last October, but one thing we can tell you for certain – the actor is not doing Karan Johar’s film on Indian spy RN Kao. And as far as PeepingMoon.com has learned, he was never approached for the titular role and nor has Hrithik shown interest in it.
The news spread like wildfire a short while ago because after KJo said he was adapting Nitin Gokhale’s book R.N. Kao: Gentleman Spymaster, there has been much curiosity about who Dharma Productions would sign to play the role. KJo left it open which led some media houses to believe Hrithik was keen on doing the film and about to sign the dotted line. Not true at all.
Turning pages into frames, one thrill at a time.
Bringing to you an adaptation of Nitin Gokhale’s book - “R.N.Kao: Gentleman Spymaster” to the silver screen. More information coming soon!@apoorvamehta18 #AmritpalBindra @anandntiwari @DharmaMovies #StillAndStillMediaCollective pic.twitter.com/gsHoWIHknn— Karan Johar (@karanjohar) January 9, 2020
The film will be based on the career of spymaster Rameshwar Nath Kao who founded India’s external intelligence agency R&AW and will showcase all his successful and exciting cases in the world of international espionage. KJo had tweeted, “Turning pages into frames, one thrill at a time. Bringing to you an adaptation of Nitin Gokhale’s book – R.N.Kao: Gentleman Spymaster to the silver screen.”
As for Hrithik, the buzz is that he will next be seen in Farah Khan’s remake of Satte Pe Satta, but there’s no confirmation of that as well. There’s also been talk of him and Akshay Kumar being approached to play the crucial roles of a mythological drama that’s being planned on a massive scale. But it’s all in the wind. Neither Hrithik nor Akshay have confirmed this rumour.
