PeepingMoon Exclusive! Has Ananya Panday backed out of Rahul Dholakia’s thriller with Saif Ali Khan?

Uh-oh, has Ananya Panday backed out of Rahul Dholakia’s film? Remember, it was PeepingMoon.com that exclusively brought you the juicy and exciting tidbit about Ananya joining Saif Ali Khan in Dholakia’s thriller about a father-daughter relationship? And that Amazon Prime Video web series Mirzapur actor Divyendu Sharma had been roped in as the second male lead?

Well, it looks like that’s not going to happen. And PeepingMoon.com again has come to know that Bollywood’s new flavour of the season has backed out of this film leaving bechara Dholakia to search for a new actress to play Saif’s daughter.

Apparently Ananya already has date issues in her career that is taking off. That’s why she is believed to have reluctantly given up Dholakia’s film.

A source revealed, “Ananya’s dates were clashing with Shakun Batra’s film which kicks off next month. Her calendar is chock-a-block. She’s currently shooting for Puri Jagannadh’s action entertainer Fighter which marks Arjun Reddy superstar Vijay Devarakonda’s Bollywood debut. Ananya will then shoot the last schedule with Ishaan Khattar for Khali Peeli before she gets into Batra’s intriguing relationship drama co-starring Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi. She was supposed to shoot for Batra’s and Dholakia’s films simultaneously next month but that won’t work out and she had to back out of the latter.”

The pre-production of this Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani production which sees Saif playing a dysfunctional but wild and crazy father had already begun and the film was to start rolling mid-next month. However, Ananya’s exit has delayed it and the film will now go on the floors only after the makers find her replacement. An emotional flick with lots of thrilling elements, this project is the second film that Dholakia is trying to put together after Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees in 2017. Last year, he had announced a female-centered thriller with Kriti Sanon as a journalist but that was shelved when Kriti backed out also citing date issues.
