Abhishek Bachchan seems on a roll! The junior Bachchan is not slowing down after his comeback with Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan in 2018. The actor has since then shot for three projects which all are scheduled to come out this year.
He is currently filming Bob Biswas — a spin-off on a fictional character from Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani (2012) — for Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. And while that is underway, we hear Abhishek has already locked one more new film.
PeepingMoon.com has learned that Abhishek is doing a film with Dinesh Vijan's production banner, Maddock Films. The plotline and other details of the project have been kept secret as of now but it's expected to be similar to what Vijan is offering lately with his production ventures.
Yami Gautam has been paired opposite Abhishek in this film. The actress, who previously collaborated with Vijan on Badlapur (2015) and last year's Bala, was apparently more than happy to come on board for their third outing and gave her go-ahead immediately after hearing the narration.
Yami has worked with Amitabh Bachchan in Sarkar 3 (2017) and is believed to be quite excited to team up with his son for the very first time. Both Abhishek and Yami will soon sign on the dotted line.
The yet-untitled project will be directed by Tushar Jalota who has been working in the industry as an AD for the past 16 years and has assisted filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Anurag Basu on their films Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela, Padmavat, Barfi and Murder respectively. He will be making his directorial debut with this dramedy that rolls in June this year.
Meanwhile, Abhishek will next be seen in Anurag Basu's dark comedy anthology Ludo, followed by Kookie Gulati's The Big Bull which is based on real events of the finance market that took place between 1990 and 2000 involving Harshad Mehta and his financial crimes. He also has Amazon Prime's Breathe Season 2 scheduled to premiere mid-this year. Yami's next release will be Ginny Weds Sunny with Vikrant Massey!
