Exclusive: Would love to feature with Asim Riaz in 'Kalla Sohna Nai 2'- Himanshi Khurana

Popular in the Punjabi industry for her music, Himanshi Khurana catapulted to nationwide success with her stint in 2019's Bigg Boss 13. The model turned singer-actress became a household name instantly. While her journey inside the BB house came to an end early in the reality TV show, she made a mark in the hearts of millions forever. Making her love for co-contestant and BB13 first runner up, Asim Riaz, also introduced the fans to one of the most popular jodis in tinsel ville, AsiManshi!

Now, after featuring in the chartbuster song Kalla Sohna Nai with her beloved Asim, Himanshi has teamed up with Kabir Singh fame star singer Akhil Sachdeva for the music video title O Jaanwaale.

With O Jaanwaale, a T-Series production, out for fans to enjoy, in an exclusive conversation with PeepingMoon.com, Himanshi candidly spoke about her journey from modeling to acting, her Bigg Boss 13 stint and whether Kalla Sohna Nai 2 will feature her with Asim yet again or not!

Excerpts from the interview:

From modeling to chartbuster music videos, how has your journey to fame been?

When you start your career afresh, you aren't aware of what lies ahead of you. The journey till now has been great and I have groomed myself according to the situation and changing times. As you progress, you learn the trick of the trade. Being a single and independent girl, the route wasn't easy.

2020 for many hasn't been a fruitful year. But thanks to Bigg Boss 13, you gained pan-India recognition. What was the idea behind signing the show?

I was already a known personality in Punjab and didn’t do Bigg Boss 13 for fame. Throughout my journey, I wore good clothes and stayed away from fights as they agitate me. Before entering the house, there were certain misconceptions as people told everything is manipulated and scripted. When I actually went inside, some contestants were busy talking to the cameras, some were arguing. In totality, it was a unique experience for me. Despite being in my comfort zone, I enjoyed the journey to the fullest.

As shown in O Jaanwaale, do you believe distance brings partners closer?

Yes, obviously. When you are distanced from your partner, the constant thought of meeting them and spend quality time captivates your heart and mind. If you are together the whole day, mood swings do hamper your feelings for each other.

Do you feel the dynamics of love change as a relationship matures?

Well, I feel that's the reason behind couples fighting. When a relationship is tender, statements like 'I Love You' are common, but as you proceed further, the feelings remain intact but understanding fades away. Certain factors like culture, priorities, thought process, your reaction to adverse situations, hygiene issues, etc. begin to interfere.

Was O Jaanwaale shot during the nationwide lockdown or before it was announced?

O Jaanwaale was shot at my residence amid the lockdown. It was shot on the phone with minimal equipment. A member from the team resides close by so he stepped in to record the video.

Acting or singing, what do you prefer?

It would definitely be modeling. That’s my first love. Acting and music videos happened with time, but my passion for modeling will never die.

Any Bollywood film in the pipeline?

I’m always open to doing Bollywood films and will definitely sign offers that fit into my comfort zone. I will pick a script that allows me to showcase my skills rather than just being eye candy. I would love to do a film with Ayushmann Khurrana.

Like Asim Riaz in Mere Angne Mein remix, are you also keen on featuring in any iconic song's reboot? What's your take on the remake trend?

I loved this song Parda Parda from Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. Although it is a medley of Duniya Mein Logo Ko from Apna Desh and Piya Tu from Caravan, I am keen on doing it in the future. Talking about remakes, there is no harm in it as tastes change with generations. We are currently in a phase where we derive music inspiration from previous chartbusters and modify accordingly to please youngsters. This is how things progress.

If Kalla Sohna Nai 2 happens in the future, would you like to do it again?

Absolutely! We have two-three more songs in the pipeline.

What’s next on your plate?

Asim and I had a very hectic schedule before the lockdown was announced. We were to shoot for a music video, but then due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we had to hold on to everything. After the situation settles, we will resume the shoot.
