Abhishek Banerjee has found his rightful place in the sun after his stellar act in Amazon Prime Video’s web series Paatal Lok. The actor has got immense applause for his portrayal of the character ‘Hathoda Tyagi’, a pretty difficult one as he has very few dialogues and has to emote with a deadpan and murderous stare in most scenes. In an exclusive conversation with PeepingMoon.com, Abhishek spoke about the controversies that have suddenly sprouted against the show.
Abhishek was asked whether the controversies regarding the series have come to fore only because the show has become successful and everyone wants a piece of the pie or is there really a genuine issue? To this, Abhishek said, “I have always believed that questioning should be there but rather than bringing it up when something is becoming successful it should be brought up when no one is talking about it, that is what dialogue’s all about. Why do we question things after they are successful and then try to bring it down rather than celebrate a project? Bring out the issues so that we have clear dialogue and we work towards a better system, also we also have a responsibility towards people as they are the audience they are the ones who are watching.”
Besides Abhishek, Paatal Lok features Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishwak Singh, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, Rajesh Sharma, Niharika Lyra Dutta and others. It is directed by Prosit Roy and Avinash Arun. Paatal Lok is produced by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma under their production banner Clean Slate Filmz and is streaming right now on Amazon Prime Video.
