Here’s some good news for Malaika Arora's fans. PeepingMoon.com has exclusive information that the VJ turned actress has agreed to start shooting for her reality show India’s Best Dancer. The production team will resume the work post June 27, 2020, making Malaika the only celebrity to head back to full-fledged shoot on sets amid Unlock 1.
A source in know revealed to PeepingMoon.com, “Initially, the production was little skeptical to approach Malaika for the shoot as a lot of celebrities are still not sure to come back on the sets amid the ongoing pandemic. However, the team was surprised to witness Malaika’s immediate reaction. She was excited to be back on the sets and sounded too eager to start the shooting with immediate effect. The team has assured the star to take all the necessary precautions before they resume the shoot. The talks are still on with Malaika’s co-star and choreographer Geeta Kapoor and choreographer Terence Lewis.”
Apparently, most of the TV producers have demanded a wage cut for actors as the industry is facing serious financial issues since the lockdown. Even Malaika was asked to take a pay cut in her salary to compensate for the loss; however, she refused to it. "After a brief talk, the producers agreed to continue with her with the same salary package," added our source.
However, unlike Malaika, there are few actors who are throwing tantrums and are not ready to resume the shoot. Just a few days back, TV's renowned producer Rajan Shahi had highlighted the truth about TV actors throwing around weight on resuming the shoot post lockdown. He had revealed that when his team reached out to one of his actors, he demanded double per day pay and stated out demands which were impractical to fulfill.
Among the many, Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay lead actress Erica Fernandes has made it clear that she doesn't want to return to sets anytime soon. “This question is not for me to say yes or no. This is a big issue there. People have not been working for a long time. Some people have no other option but to work. They will have to return to their work, but if you ask me these questions, then I can say only one thing. I am not ready to go out of the house right now. I will not change my decision. It may take me a few years to get out of the house,” Erica had said in a statement.
Amidst all these ‘not-so-good’ reactions from the actors, Malaika stepping out of her house to shoot with all the safety measures is surely a sigh of relief for the producer.
For the unaware, almost after 3 months of lockdown, the television industry is in the process of reviving shoots following all the guidelines and safety measures laid out by the Maharashtra government, albeit taking baby steps.
