The Gully Boy breakthrough star Siddhant Chaturvedi was supposed to shoot for Excel Entertainment's action film in May. Mom fame Ravi Udyawar who's directing the film had scheduled its large chunk of shooting in foreign. Siddhant had already started boxing training for it and had even shot for a special video to announce the movie with much fanfare. He was gearing up to kick off Shakun Batra's relationship drama with Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday in Sri Lanka before diving himself complete into the action zone.
However, the unwanted arrival of Coronavirus and the nationwide lockdown it brought hampered all the plans. Peepingmoon.com has learned that Siddhant's action film will now go on floors only at the end of this year. "Siddhant's date diary has gone awry due to the lockdown and will have to reschedule all his films. Out of three films he has in hands, debutant director Varun V Sharma's Bunty Aur Babli 2 is almost completed and has only a song remaining which will be shot in a few weeks at Yash Raj Studios keeping safety measures in place. Shakun's Dharma production is expected to roll once normalcy returns and will be filmed in one go. Since Siddhant's action film will be mounted on a large scale with most outdoor sequences outside of India, it's expected to get off the ground only after shootings in foreign is allowed. Although the makers haven't locked a timeline, they are expecting to start it in December or January 2021," said a source close to the film.
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani-backed project is said to be a revenge drama with slick and fast-paced action sequences. Farhan himself is said to be writing and supervising its script that gives Gully Boy's MC Sher a complete makeover of an action hero. The Inside Edge actor has also been training in Taekwondo and other martial arts to get into the skin of the character, a glimpse of which can be found on his Instagram page.
