The writer-director duo Sajid-Farhad forayed into Bollywood as a writer with Ram Gopal Varma's Shiva in 2006, and since then the Samji brothers have delivered back-to-back blockbusters, especially with Rohit Shetty on movies like Bol Bachchan, Golmaal and Singham franchise. They made their directorial debut with Akshay Kumar's It's Entertainment in 2014 and followed it up two years later with Housefull's third installment. However, despite churning out hits after hits as a successful duo, Sajid Samji and Farhad Samji split in 2017 to work individually. They parted ways reportedly "to give creative space to each other so that their personal relationship remains intact."
Three years since their separation, Farhad has solely directed Housefull 4 while Sajid hasn't come out yet with his new project as a director. However, the post-COVID 19 world seems to have a lot in store for the brothers as both are working on multiple projects individually as a writer as well as a director. PeepingMoon.com has learned that Sajid has already finalized his next three directorial while Farhad is also working on the same number of movies.

Sajid will apparently make his solo directorial debut with a fun caper under the Sony Pictures banner. He's already completed the scripting and actors are also said to have almost come on board with only contractual works remaining. He's expected to kick off this project by the year-end when things get back to normal. Soon after completing this film, Sajid will shift to Viacom 18 Movies' romantic comedy. He's directing the sequel to David Dhawan's Taapsee Pannu launch vehicle, Chashme Baddoor which was itself a remake of of 1981 Sai Paranjpye film. Apart from these two projects, Sajid has been also signed by Zee Studios for a rom-com the details of which remain unknown at this moment.
Farhad, meanwhile, has bigger projects in hands as compared to Sajid. He's been signed by producer Sajid Nadiadwala to direct two superstars in his back-to-back directorial. His first project is a masala entertainer Bachchan Pandey with Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon, followed by Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde fronted family drama Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. Farhad was supposed to start Akshay's film in May and shoot for Salman's film in October before the coronavirus put the entire schedules in limbo. The filmmaker is now targeting to roll Bachchan Pandey sometime around November-December while Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali is expected to get off the ground in summer 2021.
Farhad is also said to be developing the script for Golmaal 5 where they're planning to bring together the principal cast of all of the previous installments. He has several projects as a writer as well. He's written the scripts for Akshay Kumar's horror-comedy Laxmmi Bomb, Varun Dhawan's Coolie No.1, and Kartik Aryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
