Akshay Kumar, a leading Covid Warrior in India’s fight against the raging global pandemic, has just taken awareness and precautionary measures against the virus a notch higher by presenting the Mumbai Police with 1,000 additional GOQii fitness bands of the amazing new model VITAL 3.0.
The Bollywood superstar presented the GOQii smartwatches to Maharashtra Minister of Tourism and Environment Aditya Thackeray and Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh at the Mayor’s Bungalow this afternoon. The Mumbai Police is the world’s first organisation enabled to remotely track and manage its personnel’s health via the GOQii preventive health platform.
As its brand ambassador, Akshay had earlier also donated GOQii bands to workers at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19 including police personnel of Mumbai, Nashik and Jalandhar, and the BMC. These were specially conceptualized and designed to help curb the rapid spread of the virus.
Earlier today, @akshaykumar ji handed over fitness- health tracking devices to @MumbaiPolice . It gives a constant reading of oxygen, body temp and heart rate, helpful in Covid battle. Last month, Akshay ji gave it to @nashikpolice . (1/n) pic.twitter.com/rgWh2LfbIW

The GOQii VITAL 3.0 has thermal sensors that monitor every vital parameter of the human being during activity and at rest including oxygen level, blood pressure, body temperature, heart rate and flags Covid-19 symptoms. It also monitors the wearer’s fitness levels and records the number of steps taken when they walk or run and the calories they burned.
Nashik Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil, a fitness enthusiast, was excited that apart from its Covid-19 dashboard monitoring the health of the frontline police personnel, GOQii 30.0 measured a fit person’s fitness levels and Body Mass Index. He has made it a rule that every Nashik police person should walk a minimum 10,000 steps a day to remain active and fit. Anybody falling short, as revealed by the GOQii 3.0 band, gets a reprimanding call from the Nashik top cop. But every month, Patil also rewards the police person who has taken the maximum number of steps in a day with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.
Jalandhar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar was relieved that the health of the police personnel on Covid duty could be monitored under an integrated control room. The GOQii 3.0, which is described as a “Chalta-phirta ICU”, enables a mother unit at any Police Control Room to keep track of the temperature, pressure, oxygen and heart rate of every police person wearing the fitness band. This early detection provides for prompt action as soon as they are found to be exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms.
GOQii 3.0, an official government Fit India partner, is a unisex fitness band and comes it attractive colours. It is waterproof and also tells the time! Bollywood producer Jackky Bhagnani has ordered 150 bands for the entire unit of his film Bellbottom that will begin shooting in Scotland in a few days. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Huma Qureshi and Vaani Kapoor, is the first to begin shooting outdoors after the outbreak of Covid-19.
