Applause Entertainment which has previously adapted acclaimed International Television shows such as Criminal Justice, Hostages, The Office, Kvodo among others has taken the adaptation rights of one more popular foreign series. Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that the Sameer Nair-led content company will adapt the critically-acclaimed French show, Call My Agent for the Indian audience. The studio, promoted by the Aditya Birla Group, has joined hands with the Indian arm of Paris-based company Banijay Group to develop the Indian version of the show that debuted in 2015 on a French TV channel and became a global sensation when it dropped on Netflix.

Call My Agent revolves around the personal and professional lives of a tight-knit, dysfunctional team of a Parisian talent agency whose business afloat after the sudden death of its founder. The creative team at Applause Entertainment and Banijay Asia are currently working on adapting its context to a customised Indian setting. It's believed that the Indian version will chronicle the controversial real-life stories of Bollywood film agents who control the lives of the stars.
