Roohi and Yash Johar to make their first public appearance

Ten months and two days after they were born and made national news on the country’s biggest front pages, Karan Johar’s babies Roohi and Yash Johar are ready to step out in public tomorrow! Their proud papa is the paparazzi’s delight. And, indications are, that Bollywood’s shutterbugs are gearing up to capture his kids’ big moment in the limelight now.

The occasion is Baby Adira Chopra’s second birthday party which her reticent and socially reclusive parents, Rani and Aditya Chopra, plan to have among family and close friends only. The celebrations are bound to be low key because Rani is still silently grieving over the loss of her father, Ram Mukerji, on October 22.

But PeepingMoon.com has exclusive confirmation that a party is being held and the star attendance will begin with Roohi and Yash Johar. Showing them how to face the paparazzi’s flashbulbs will be Baby Taimur, Kareena and Saif Ali Khan’s tot, a veteran of the Bollywood social whirl already.

Karan had originally planned for Roohi and Yash to make their public debut later this month at the same star kid Taimur’s first birthday party in Pataudi. The excited papa had revealed to Neha Dhupia on her podcast No Filter Season 2, “It will be on Taimur’s first birthday – December 20.” However, it now seems that the Dharma babies’ social calendar has been rejigged. And Adira’s birthday party tomorrow will be their first public outing.

For six months, Karan had fiercely protected pictures of Roohi and Yash from getting out. But on August 7, when they were six months old, perhaps unable to contain his excitement, the celebrated filmmaker shared pictures of them on his Instagram account. Roohi and Yash instantly became Internet darlings. Now they are ready to take on Bollywood’s trigger-happy paps tomorrow.

Along with the young Johars, Adira too will have her moment in the sun, because the Chopras have been rather stingy with her public appearances. And till now, it has only been Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s tousle headed son AbRam, and the camera friendly Taimur, who have been tickling the media’s imagination.

It was unofficially understood that Adira’s pictures were not to be taken. Mommy Rani had said, “I don’t mind Adira’s pictures coming out, but I don’t think her father is very comfortable. I am a public figure, I know Adira is going to be clicked and people would want to see how she looks, and I don’t have issues with that at all. I am sure Adi will be ready in time. I think he feels it’s too early now. I tell him, ‘You are protecting and guarding her, but for how long?’ She is going to go to school or a birthday party and she is going to get clicked.” Today is that day.
