This is such a bittersweet love story that was meant to be. And we are so happy and thrilled to be bringing it to you. We’re talking Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Two of Bollywood’s most talented and attractive young actors. Lovely people, too. Anybody in the industry will now knowingly tell you, they were meant to happen to each other but took their time getting there.
Just when both are nursing broken relationships and single again, Ranbir and Alia have been pitched together for the first time in their careers by Karan Johar for Dharma Productions’ Brahmastra. According to director Ayan Mukerji, it’s a modern day film with ancient Indian values. It has romance at its core but with a new flavour. Brahmastra will also go down as the film that brought Ranbir and Alia together. Somebody closely known to both actors said, “It’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to Student Of The Year.”

Ranbir and Alia made a work trip to Israel around the turn of the year with Ayan to prep for Brahmastra. And that’s where and when it reportedly happened. There was always a vibe between the young actors and things appear to have escalated when they were by themselves and the rest of the world was joyously ringing in 2018. Now everybody but everybody in Bollywood is hopefully saying it’s looking like they are heading into a relationship.
Alia said in 2012 while promoting her debut film Student of The Year, “I have always loved Ranbir. He is my biggest crush and he will always remain my biggest crush.” And Ranbir, while being the gentleman and not expressing it, has always been quietly fond of Alia. But, as was reported by a Bollywood site when Ranbir split with Katrina Kaif in January 2016, Alia was really not the reason behind Bollywood’s most sensational breakup.
Though Katrina is now bound to be insecure about her gym buddy (Alia and she work out together at Yasmin Karachiwala’s) and Vogue BFF (Neha Dhupia’s chat show for Colors) where both B-Town divas were required to share intimate moments with their best friends or favourite people. Siddharth Malhotra, who spent New Year with his friends in Sri Lanka, should not mind Alia moving on too much because he clearly has moved out of the thing they once had.
