It’s Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria opposite Tiger Shroff

He’s going to make the announcement soon. But PeepingMoon.com sources say that the two names Karan Johar is going to reveal as the leading ladies for his November campus drama sequel Student of The Year 2 are Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria.

After a year of intense speculation feverishly carried out in the Bollywood press, KJo appears to have made up his mind on the casting. Sources reveal that like he did with SOTY in 2012, which became the launch pad of powerhouse talent like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra, the filmmaker is going to give Bollywood fresh new faces in SOTY2 also.

Action and dancing star Tiger Shroff, all of four films old, is the male lead of the Dharma Productions’ sequel. And whereas Alia had two suitors in Varun and Siddharth chasing her in SOTY, in the second installment of the franchise, it will be Tiger who has two outrageously gorgeous women vying for his attention. These two new finds of KJo’s are Ananya and Tara.

Ananya is Chunky Pandey’s lovely daughter who read Alia’s lines from SOTY in an audition for Karan and director Punit Malhotra and immediately got cast in the sequel. Tara, a trained singer and dancer and a VJ for Disney Channel, is the ‘Jassie’ of the TV serial Oye Jassie. She has lent her voice to films like Taare Zameen Par and Guzaarish.

Ever since KJo tweeted that SOTY2 would release worldwide on November 23, the Bollywood press went into overdrive speculating who the two leading ladies might be. Among the frontrunners were Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar and Disha Patani. However, KJo denied these stories. He is now ready with the young and breathtaking pin-up trio of Ananya, Tara and Tiger.

While SOTY resulted in Alia and Siddharth becoming a couple, sources say that there is little likelihood of there being any romantic pairing off the screen among the cast of SOTY2. Tiger is attached to Disha and they are among Bollywood’s most endearing young couples. Ananya is said to be romantically involved with designer Monisha Jaising’s younger son Karan who is a gold medalist swimmer and runs a sports marketing and events management company with his brother Yudhisthir. And Tara is rumoured to be dating Rohan Mehra (late actor Vinod Mehra’s son) who is making his own Bollywood debut in Nikhil Advani’s Baazaar starring Saif Ali Khan, Chitrangda Singh and Radhika Apte. So everybody’s sorted out.
