Sonam Kapoor’s bestie happens to be Samyukta Nair of The Leela, that’s why

Everybody’s rushing to “officially” announce that the Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja wedding has now shifted to Mumbai and will be held either at the end of April or on May 11 and 12. PeepingMoon.com now tells you where it is most likely going to take place. The venue that is looking good for the marriage and all its ceremonies is The Leela Mumbai at Sahar. When that happens, remember you heard it heard first.

Why Leela? Why not? It’s got everything that a wedding of this large and majestic proportion would require. Plenty of rooms to accommodate all the outstation guests, grand and spacious banquet halls to take in everything that the Bollywood Kapoors have in their celebration plans, an outstanding food and beverage department, a resort-like ambience, close proximity to the domestic and international airports, and enough parking not to inconvenience the neighbourhood with a traffic jam.

But that’s not the only reason why Sonam Kapoor might pick The Leela. The real reason is that Mumbai’s only five-star resort-style business hotel happens to belong to the Nair family of Sonam’s bestie Samyukta Nair. Samyukta is the daughter of Madhu and Dinesh Nair, co-chairman and MD of the hotel group. She and her father started the gourmet Indian restaurant brand Jamavar which has five restaurants in India and one in London. Samyukta attended the hospitality management institute Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland before the joining the family business.

Last year in July, despite her shooting schedules for PadMan, Sonam took off to Sri Lanka to ring in Samyukta’s birthday with her girl gang. The others included her sister Rhea Kapoor and the designer Shehla Khan. This bestie group also has Pooja Dhingra and Masaba Gupta. While Anand Ahuja is also reported to have been part of these birthday celebrations, the Kapoor sisters updated fans on social media with pictures only of themselves, Samyukta and Shehla in Sri Lanka.

It is but natural that if the Bollywood actress is planning to get married in Mumbai, her hotelier friend would throw open the doors of her property for the marriage and ceremonies.
