The stage is literally set at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai for the most spectacular film of 2010 to begin its second schedule here. We are talking Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. “The supernatural film – not superhero,” as Alia Bhatt chidingly said last week. She plays the lead. And there’s history in the making, here. This will be the first film Alia and Ranbir Kapoor are doing together. And Brahmastra will also be the first film both these young actors are doing with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Ayan has a full hand of winning cards this time. The shoot begins tomorrow.

Reports from Mehboob Studios, where hectic activity was reported today, suggest that the second schedule here is likely, to begin with the film’s first song being shot. Music director Pritam was spotted at the studios along with Brahmastra’s eclectic cast. And Pritam, who has composed music for Ranbir’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Jagga Jasoos, came with his guitar and speakers. More than once, Ranbir has said that Pritam scores his best music for his films. Bollywood journos who were at the studios today for the Race 3 promotions could not help speculate in excitement about what was brewing on the closed-in Brahmastra sets.
The first schedule of the film was shot in Bulgaria at the start of 2018. And it is there, where they were pitched together nursing broken hearts respectively, that Alia and Ranbir with Ayan playing Cupid became a couple. A lot of their scenes have already been done and now the Big B enters the picture majestically. Over the last weekend, Mr. Bachchan who is a professional in this matter was seen holding workshops at his office Janak in Juhu for Brahmastra. Attending them were Alia, Ranbir and Ayan. Later, being the social animal he is, Mr. Bachchan shared some cozy pictures of them at work over coffee, cola and snacks. Alia said, “Sir always used to ask me, ‘Alia – when are we working together? Huh, when are we going to do a film?” That time has come. And we don’t know who is going to be more excited tomorrow when Ayan yells “Action!” on the sets of Brahmastra.
