Marriages are contagious in Bollywood. Anushka Sharma set the ball rolling by marrying Indian cricket poster boy and captain Virat Kohli last December in an extravagant splash of showbiz and glamour. Her example was taken up by Sonam Kapoor who tied the knot after lot of guesswork on the part of the Bollywood press with businessman beau Anand Ahuja this May. And quietly after that, it was the turn of former Miss India, actress and TV show hostess Neha Dhupia to shyly announce that she was married to model and Bollywood newbie Angad Bedi.

Now, PeepingMoon.com sources say, the marriages being lined up for later this year and for 2019 and 2020 include that of Bollywood’s strong GenNext actors. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, of course, are on top of the list. And there is much speculation and betting inside and outside the industry that the gorgeous couple of Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani and Ram Leela will get hitched this November. The duo, while open about their relationship, have been fiercely guarding plans about their marriage. While Deepika is not talking at all, Ranveer did let it be known that this November and December, he wasn’t going to be working on any films. He will, however, take time out to promote his December release Simmba for Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty. Bollywood is asking, why is Ranveer on two months’ leave if not to get married.

But bigger news than that is the impending (and certain) marriage between Bollywood heart-throb Varun Dhawan and designer Natasha Dalal that is expected to take place sometime early next year. The couple has been dating for ages, even before Varun became an actor, but their relationship became confirmed only last year when they were spotted at a wedding together and pictures of them went viral. Varun has since then admitted to being in a relationship with Natasha but has not gone public with details of his wedding plans. His only comment to the press was that he believes in the institution of marriage but right now is so packed with films that he has no dates to talk about anything else. Next year then, huh?

And the best news of all is going to be the marriage of Bollywood’s dream couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The actors, who are currently working on their first film together, Dharma Productions’ Brahmastra, are dating. PeepingMoon.com brought you news of their togetherness in January when they had returned from a recce in Budapest over the New Year. Since then, the young actors who were both out of relationships began slowly discovering each other and taking time to get into something more intimate than an onscreen pairing. All of Bollywood is happy for them because Ranbir and Alia, apart from being among the industry’s most talented actors, are lovely people. And it would make a lot of people happy to see them settle down together. Rumours are that the families are also keen on this marriage and have given their consent. All that is left is for the Kapoors and Bhatts to sit down formally at a table and discuss the wedding. Sources say, it will happen late in 2019 or early in 2020. Keep your fingers crossed.
