The news about Salman Khan’s Romanian model, TV actress and singer friend Iulia Vantur making her Bollywood debut is true. And while the film industry’s other debutantes, including Sara Ali Khan who’s got two films coming out this year, are not exactly worried, the fact is that Iulia is extremely comfortable before the camera and might just spring a surprise.
Iulia’s film is expected to go on the floor towards the end of 2018. It’s being directed by Prem Soni who helmed the Salman-Kareena Kapoor starrer Main Aur Mrs. Khanna in 2009 and after that Preity Zinta’s Ishkq in Paris in 2013. A title has not as yet been decided for Iulia’s debut, but PeepingMoon.com is in the position to tell you something about the film.
The story is believed to be inspired from true events and revolves around the rape of a foreigner in India by a cab driver who sprayed something on her face first. When she comes around, the foreigner finds herself on a railway station bench with her child sitting beside her. Most possibly the story gets its background in Goa where there have been a couple of horrific rape cases of foreigners that shocked the nation.
Other Bollywood reports also confirm that the story is based on a true incident and will have Iulia playing a Polish girl who comes to India only to have her life take a drastic turn. These reports suggest it will be shot in Poland, Mathura, Delhi and Goa with Iulia falling in love with the country and becoming a Krishna bhakt. Iulia, who recently sang for the Salman-Jacqueline Fernandez action-thriller Race 3, will also be singing for her Bollywood debut. Randeep Hooda is believed to be the male lead and Jimmy Shergill has also been signed on for a pivotal role. Sources say that Salman gave the green signal to Soni to go ahead with the film and will be taking keen interest in it.
