Kushan Nandy reunites with Nawazuddin Siddiqui for romantic film

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is on a roll. The actor, who struggled for 19 years to get his Bollywood break, suddenly finds his plate full with a variety of roles. And one among them will have Nawazuddin romancing a beautiful A-list actress. Who this will be, it is not yet known. But director Kushan Nandy, who made Babumoshai Bandookbaaz with Nawazuddin last year, is coming up with a romantic film next which the actor has happily okayed.

Perhaps encouraged by Kushan’s direction in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, his first solo hit, Nawazuddin is ready to do for the first time and out-and-out romantic role. He’s already got a choc-a-bloc schedule but Nawazuddin will begin this film next year.

During the pre-production of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, Kushan and the film’s crew had to bear the brunt of Chitrangada Singh who reportedly walked out of the film claiming she was not comfortable shooting intimate scenes with Nawazuddin. However, the director contradicted her claim and alleged that Chitrangada had demanded many changes in the script too and the intimate scenes were not the reason behind her sudden exit. That was when Kushan decided to get Bidita Bag to replace Chitrangada and the sensual Bengali actress and model sizzled on screen in her hardcore love scenes with Nawazuddin. Since then, the actor has gone on to do bold intimate scenes also in the Netflix web series Sacred Games. And now he’s getting into romance.

Nawazuddin was seen last month in Anil Sharma’s Genius playing an antagonist and now has Nandita Das’s biopic Manto releasing on Friday. Apart from Kushan’s untitled romantic film, the actor has also signed a wedding comedy Motichoor Chaknachoor opposite Athiya Shetty. The film marks the directorial debut of Debamitra Hassan. Nawazuddin also has Photograph and Thackeray in his kitty which are slated for 2019 release.
