The cast of the film is another story. We would like to give you likely names. But it is believed that KJo, who has several big films on the floor currently including Kesari, Brahmastra, Student of The Year 2 and Kalank, has nobody in mind as yet. One thing is for sure: John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra, who featured in Dostana, will not be repeated in the sequel. The second part will have a fresh cast, sources say. Whether this will be of newbie actors or different faces is not known as yet. But Dostana 2 will also be a romantic comedy played out between two men and a woman. KJo is expected to give the sequel his time and attention after he launches the sixth season of his hugely popular chat show Koffee with Karan on October 21.

Meanwhile, speculation is rife about who all could be starring in Dostana 2. Ranveer Singh has already expressed great interest to KJo in doing the sequel to this comic entertainer but only if he can “romance” his favourite co-star Arjun Kapoor in the film! The two young actors were a riot in Gunday (2014) and audiences are eager to see them together again. But that’s not happening. While Abhishek Bachchan, who is in a “very happy and focused mind space” after Manmarziyaan, also rubbished reports of John and him teaming up again for Dostana 2. “It would be great, but if it’s a completely different script it remains to be seen if there is any room for John and me in it,” he said. has learned that script is being developed and will be locked soon and Dostana 2 will go on the floors early in 2019.
