Nana Patekar not named in Tanushree Dutta’s 2008 FIR!

There’s a new twist in the Tanushree Datta-Nana Patekar story that has been consuming readers, dividing Bollywood, and is responsible for the launch of the Indian #MeToo movement last week.

PeepingMoon.com has learned that in the original FIR filed by Tanushree’s father, Tapan Kumar Datta, at the Goregaon Police Station in 2008, there is no mention of Nana at all. Nor are dance choreographer Ganesh Acharya and film producer Sami Siddiqui mentioned in this complaint. They were all reportedly present on the sets of the film Horn OK Pleassss where and when Tanushree said Nana misbehaved with her.

PeepingMoon.com is in possession of this 2008 FIR. It is believed after the fresh round of complaints and counter-complaints lodged by Tanushree and Nana over the weekend respectively, the police will have to reopen the old FIR and inquire within the department why Nana, Ganesh and Sami figure nowhere as Tanushree’s aggressors. Interestingly, there is no mention of “molestation” too in it.

Instead, the FIR names the media persons who reportedly attacked the actress’ car when she was leaving Filimistan Studios where Horn OK Pleassss was being shot in the FIR. It is believed that the original officers who were attached to Goregaon Police Station at the time of the incident and responsible for the FIR have all been transferred since or have retired.

But police sources say that efforts will be made to get those officers’ version of what happened when Tapan Kumar Datta brought his angst to the Goregaon Police Station and reportedly complained that Nana, Ganesh and Sami had been sexually inappropriate and misbehaved with his daughter.

According to Datta Sr., an aggrieved Tanushree called him after the incident took place and requested him to come and fetch her from the film sets. He said that after he picked up Tanushree from Filimistan, he went to the Goregaon Police Station to file the FIR. The question that now arises is why were Nana, Ganesh and Sami not mentioned when Tanushree is believed to have specifically named them as being the aggressors in this complaint?
