The speculation is mounting. And now buzz is that Sooryavanshi may release on April 2. Not for Eid on May 14. That day has been booked by Salman Khan for his actioner Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. It has also been taken by Milap Zaveri for his John Abraham vigilante sequel Satyameva Jayate 2. Bollywood trade pundits are eager to see who wins this major macho tussle at the box office. As for Akshay Kumar’s cop thriller Sooryavanshi, PeepingMoon exclusively has details of what’s going on in the countdown to its release.
The producers of the film, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films and Reliance Entertainment, are in talks with theatre owners to see if and when Sooryavanshi can have a theatrical release. If these talks work, then the film may come out even before April 2. But if they don’t, then don’t be surprised if Sooryavanshi has a web release. Rumour is that an OTT platform is offering Rohit a lucrative deal that’s double what Sooryavanshi can expect from theatres. And the makers of the film co-starring Katrina Kaif and Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in powerful cameos might just consider it. Bollywood waits with bated breath.
