The crazy excitement over last week’s Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh marriage just refuses to die down. PeepingMoon.com has now exclusively learned that it goes to another level with the bridegroom’s sister, Ritika Bhavnani, also getting into the act and hosting a dinner party for the newlyweds on Saturday, November 24, at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.
In an invitation similar to the one sent out by the respective in-laws, Ujjala and Prakash Padukone and Anju and Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, for the reception also at Grand Hyatt on November 28, Ritika has sent out her own cards inviting a private and exclusive guest list to “Raise a Toast and Celebrate Ranveer and Deepika” four days earlier. It is a simple invitation, but classy and elegant.

Bollywood is not surprised that Ritika wants to individually celebrate her brother’s marriage with a party of her own. Ritika is elder to Ranveer and is extremely close to him. People who have seen her say that Ritika, who is media shy, is as gorgeous as any Bollywood actress. Fortunately, she is as quietly chic in her dress sense as her brother is outrageously mad in his fashion statements!
Ranveer is known to be crazy about Ritika and calls her Didi. As kids, he has said she used to mother him and spoiled him rotten by feeding him chocolates every day. “That’s the secret of my white teeth,” the actor once tongue-in-cheek said in an interview. Ranveer calls Ritika his “Chotte Maa” and mother Anju his “Bade Maa”. Both the Bhavnani women are equally crazy about him.

It is not known what kind of party Ritika has in mind for Deepika and Ranveer. But she is known to be traditional in thought. When Ranveer was studying in the US, on Raksha Bandhan Ritika would send him a rakhi by post and in ziplock bags send rice and the tikki for a puja and some dollars as spending money.

Raksha Bandhan is sacred for the brother-sister duo and Ranveer wears the rakhi Ritika ties on his wrist till it falls off. He also touches her feet and seeks her blessings. This Ranveer has been seen doing in public too whenever he gets a Best Actor Award and Ritika is among the audience at the award ceremony. Will he do that at her party on November 24? Why not? Will biwi Deepika also seek nanand Ritika’s blessings? She should!
