Lately, films based on real-life incidents or real-life characters have been proved to be a success formula for Hindi film industry. Although the trend of representing real-life stories on a cinematic platform is not new, it has certainly seen a noticeable upward in the numbers over the last few years. These films are not only getting a positive response from moviegoers but also earn big at the ticket windows which has made many filmmakers adopt projects that shed lights on historical events or on people who aren't spoken of any more or have been forgotten.

Akshay Kumar and R Balki, in association with Fox Star Hindi, recently announced a film based on India's 2014 Mars Mission starring an ensemble cast that includes Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menon, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi along with Akshay. Titled Mission Mangal, the film reportedly celebrates the contribution of a team of women ISRO scientists who played significant roles in pulling off the space mission. Now Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learnt that one more film on India's Mars Mission is in making.
Nikkhil Advani who is currently busy shooting for John Abraham's Batla House, we heard, is also working on a project on the same historical event that made India the first nation in the world to reach the Mars orbit in the first attempt. Unlike Mission Mangal which is a fictional story, Advani's film, however, will be based on a book called My Odyssey: Memoirs of The Man Behind The Mangalyaan Mission.

"Nikkhil Advani has the book rights of My Odyssey, which is an autobiography of Dr. K Radhakrishnan, the former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Dr. Radhakrishnan is credited with being one of the world's top 10 scientists and Mangalyaan is one of his many milestones. The film is at its very initial stage and hence it will be too early to divulge any further details," a source close to Advani informed us adding that they are planning to roll the film by the end of 2019.
Co-written by Nilanjan Routh, Dr. Radhakrishnan's memoir takes us behind the scenes of India's historical scientific achievement and tells the story of how one man's vision and commitment can bring glory to a nation. The writers team at Emmay Entertainment is working on the story and we will hear more once the script is locked.
