Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam are all geared up for the release of their upcoming film Uri: The Surgical Strike on January 11. The film is based on the surgical strike that took place on September 29, 2016, across the Line of Control in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The film has been directed by Aditya Dhar. During an exclusive chat with PeepingMoon.com Vicky spoke about how he landed the role in the film and also how Aditya decided to make the film on the subject.
During the interaction, we asked Vicky how did Aditya sign him in the lead role and even though the surgical strike is going to complete two years soon why a film was not made on these attacks previously. To this Vicky gave us a really very interesting answer. He said, “Aditya was destined to make this film. Two years ago he was signed by Dharma Productions to direct a film with Fawad Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead which had the entire media in a buzz."

He continued, "However, soon the Uri attacks happened and in lieu of the surgical strikes, the film was shelved as Fawad had to return back. From there, Aditya got the idea of Uri: The Surgical Strikes and he started working on it and I came on board. It is a mark of destiny that because of the surgical strikes an actor had to leave the project and go back and because of those strikes, another film was made on it by the same director.

Now, isn’t that interesting and sheer coincidence? This answer by Vicky clearly shows that when one door closes another opens and somehow everything falls into place in life like a big jigsaw puzzle.
