Popular mainstream actor Mahesh Anand who played the villain’s henchman in 1980s and 1990s was found dead today at his Yari Road flat. He was 57 years old and was living alone. He was found dead today evening at his Yari Road flat.
PRO Wasim Siddiqui got to know about the sad news of Mahesh's passing through sources. He went to Cooper Hospital where the deceased's body was kept and spoke to Dr.Laxmikant, his niece's husband Jyoti Gupta and one of his friends. Mahesh was dead for two days and the alarm was raised when his neighbours noticed that the tiffins were kept outside the door and weren't taken inside his home. Noticing the untouched and unopened tiffins, his building people informed the police and the fire brigade who found his dead and decomposed body inside.

Mahesh Anand's sisters were called and informed by the police. The body was brought to Cooper hospital at 4:30 PM and punchnama has been done. Tomorrow morning at 10 am after the postmortem the body will be handed over to the family for cremation.
His ex-wife Usha Bachani told PeepingMoon.com, “I was unaware that he passed away, we are not in touch since 2002.” Actor Aditya Pancholi who had worked with Mahesh in a few films also expressed his grief and sadness and said, “It’s extremely sad news. Mahesh was like a brother to me. The first time I worked with him it was my debut film. Little did I know that meeting him last year would be our last rendezvous.”

Mahesh had financial troubles and was mostly out of work but had made his comeback into films with Govinda’s film Rangeela Raja after 18 years. He starred in several hit films of late 80s and 90s like like Shahenshah (1988), Majboor (1989), Swarg (1990), Thanedaar (1990), Vishwatma (1992), Gumrah (1993), Khuddar (1994), Betaaj Badshah (1994), Vijeta (1996) and Kurukshetra (2000). Mahesh had shared screen space with superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, Govinda, and several others.
