Sooryavanshi, which has Ajay and Ranveer Singh teaming up with Akshay, is the most anticipated film of 2020 and now 2021. It’s been waiting in the wings to take off for exactly a year. Golmaal 5 everybody knew was coming after Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade danced to Aaankh Maare in Simmba (to Golmaal’s theme tune) and held out 5 fingers as a hint.
Dostana 2 is clearly a frontrunner because the first part in 2008 with Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham turned out to be such a path-breaking, cult film that fans, friends and the fraternity have been eagerly waiting for Karan Johar’s second installment of this fun film. And the filmmaker did not disappoint with his announcement of Dostana 2 which is being directed by Colin D’Cunha and has the young, quirky, delightful pairing of Kartik Aryan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles in this romcom.
The excitement for the next Tiger film is also skyrocketing with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif sharing their looks from YRF Studios. Tiger 3: The Final Mission is likely to be the last installment of the action franchise. Shooting for it has already begun in Mumbai and will continue in the UAE, Istanbul and Australia. Krrish 4 has been in the works for some time now and although the makers have yet to make an official announcement, Bollywood is already abuzz with the news that Kiara Advani might play the female lead opposite Hrithik.
In addition to these five sequels to look forward to, 2021 will also see work on others like Sanjay Dutt’s KGF: Chapter 2 (in five languages including Hindi), Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2 with Tara Sutaria joining the young fighting and dancing superstar, Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 based on another true story, Saif Ali Khan’s Go Goa Gone 2 with aliens this time instead of zombies and Chitrangada Singh’s Soorma 2 based on another real-life story of heroism.
