The Narcotics Control Bureau, which filed a 50,000-plus pages chargesheet in the Bollywood drugs case arising out of Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide investigation, fears that actor Arjun Rampal who is a suspect may flee the country. Anticipating such a move from the Rock On star, the NCB’s Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede wrote to the Consulate General of the Republic of South Africa urging that it take appropriate action if Rampal applies for a visa.
The NCB chargesheet, filed last month, shows Rampal to be a suspect in the drugs case. It also names his partner Gabriella Demetriades’s brother Agisilaos, arrested in two drug-related cases, to be an accused. It suspects Agisilaos peddled drugs in Bollywood in Rampal’s name. The chargesheet names 33 people including Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda and domestic servant Deepesh Sawant.
The NCB questioned Rampal about Agisilaos who was arrested in the drug case relating to Sushant’s death. It had Whatsapp messages in which Agisilaos refers to Arjun as “friend” and “boss” and talks about Meth and Hash. Rampal denied being the “friend” and “boss” and said he was unaware if Agisilaos used his name to supply contraband. Even before filing the chargesheet and while its investigation was on, the NCB feared Rampal would flee and took preventive action by writing to the SA Consulate General.
