Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is in the news for all the wrong reasons. In the New Normal, the director had begun the shoot of his horror thriller in full swing. In March it hit an obstacle when leading man Kartik Aaryan tested positive for Covid. Kartik got back on his feet quickly. But now Tabu, who joined the cast last month, has reportedly developed cold feet and is refusing to shoot for fear of Covid. Not surprising given the rising number of cases in Bollywood in the last fortnight.
Even as Bazmee was pondering the fate of his shoot, given that a lockdown was likely to be imposed in Mumbai, Tabu is believed to have expressed her fears to go ahead with the schedule. The poor director was all set to go, having obtained the dates from his stars, when Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 hit this roadblock. Now Bazmee is reported to be waiting and watching what might develop in the Covid situation next before he makes further plans. The film, which also has Kiara Advani, is definitely delayed again.

A set was erected at a Powai studio for the penultimate leg of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in March. It had to be dismantled after Kartik tested positive. Bazmee was ready to rebuild it before they resumed shooting. But if the lockdown is imposed after his set is ready, it will be a heavy loss for producer Bhushan Kumar, so the director has decided to wait it out. After Mumbai, the unit moves to Lucknow for the final schedule of 10 days.
However, another producer of the film, Murad Khetani, sought to deny that Tabu was wary of shooting currently for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. He said, "We are working on the plan of the next schedule. After the Covid situation settles in the state we will resume shooting."
