Uh-oh, a Bollywood site has got it terribly wrong. Announcing that Karan Johar would be turning 49 tomorrow, it went on to say that the Dharma Productions boss was going to celebrate the occasion with the mother-of-all parties in Alibaug. The invitations had gone out and RSVPs received from half of Bollywood!Yes, it is true that Karan turns 49 tomorrow. It is also true that nobody throws a more rollicking and well-attended party in Bollywood than him. But what is totally untrue is that he is celebrating his birthday in Alibaug tomorrow with a bash to which half of the industry was happily coming.
PeepingMoon.com has it on authority that the story is absolutely false. Calls made to the stars who were said to be attending KJo’s party, like Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli and Deepika Padukone, have revealed they didn’t receive any invite and knew nothing about the party. A source close to the birthday boy said, “In this Covid climate who would think of celebrating their birthday and who would go for such a party! Karan is respecting the grim sentiment of the country and will not be even talking of his birthday. The news is mischievous and misleading at a time like this.”
The Bollywood reporter even published an exhaustive guest list to “KJo’s party” and added that the affable filmmaker had divided the birthday celebrations into three days so as not to make it an overcrowded affair. The party would begin tonight and wind up on Wednesday. Guests had been invited accordingly.
The “guest list” included Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Varun and Natasha Dhawan, Natasha, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Manish Malhotra, Kriti Sanon, Jahnvi Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor among many others.
