PeepingMoon Exclusive: Did you know Mrunal Thakur had to turn down Satyamev Jayate for Super 30? The actress reveals!

Mrunal Thakur made a successful transition from TV to films. Not just this, she made her Internation debut in Love Sonia (2018) before venturing into mainstream Bollywood with Super 30 (2019) co-starring Hrithik Roshan. In PeepingMoon.com's latest series, Let's Talk, Mrunal revealed how she bagged the role of Supriya in the Vikas Bahl directorial based on the life of math wizard Anand Kumar. The actress shared that the makers of Super 30 weren't aware that she was a part of Love Sonia. Mrunal told that her aim was to make her character memorable irrespective of the screen time she got.

"The team of Super 30 didn't know that I was a part of a film called Love Sonia. They were a little afraid of what kind of film will Love Sonia be as the title suggests that it will be a romantic film. When they got to know it was about sex trafficking, they were scared in another sense. After some time, I signed Super 30. When I read the script, I cried. I love Shakuntala Devi and when I read Super 30, I thought I'll probably be involved with maths in some way or the other. When I read the script and I had no association with maths, I was really disappointed. I asked myself that after doing a film like Love Sonia, is this what I deserve? I went home and gave it a thought. I wanted to be a part of a film that would change lives and inspire kids, irrespective of what my screen space is. I went with the flow without knowing Super 30 would become so big. I decided to make my 5 scenes memorable and make sure that nobody forgets Supriya. That was my aim and people appreciated my work. I managed to make space in the audience's hearts," Mrunal told.

Mrunal further added that she had to turn down Satyamev Jayate (2018) because she had signed Super 30. "When I signed Super 30, I met Nikkhil Advani. He called me to say that he watched Love Sonia at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and he liked my work in the film. He had called me for Milap Zaveri's Satyamev Jayate (2018). I couldn't do it because I had signed Super 30. The meeting with him was very fruitful and after Super 30 was done, he called me for a film's narration. That was Batla House (2019). When I asked him whether I have to audition for the role, he said no. He told me that he has seen my work and I can be his Nandita. That was the moment I felt kuch toh achieve kiya hai life mein," the actress shared.

In the exclusive interview, Mrunal also spoke about her desire to work in every possible medium and leave a mark in Bollywood with her craft.
