India's one of the most successful web series Asur is coming back with its second season. Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that the highly anticipated second season of the Voot Select series is set to go on floors this Saturday, July 10 in Mumbai. The new season is getting into production 16 months after Asur: Welcome To Your Dark Side premiered and stunned people with its unique narrative. The show was earlier supposed to get off the ground early this year but was delayed due to the second COVID-19 lockdown.
"Asur had ended on a cliffhanger. The second season will take off from where it left and this time it's promised to be more thrilling and exciting. The creator Gaurav Shukla has gone all out on his research and has written a script that's full of suspense and mystery. The second season will also have the same aspect of unpredictability and will take audiences on a ride never explored before. Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti who played the two forensic officers from the CBI will be back to continue their cat-and-mouse game with a brutal serial killer having religious ties. Anupriya Goenka and Ridhi Dogra's characters have also been retained," a source close to the project told us further adding that the second season will also have some new addition to the cast whose details have been kept under wraps to maintain the suspense.

Developed by Tanveer Bookwala's Bombay Fables Motion Picture in association with Viacom18 Studios, Asur Season 2 is expected to premiere later 2021 or early next year. Director Oni Sen has been working on the pre-production for a couple of months and has planned to shoot the entire series in a two-and-a-half-months straight schedule. Gaurav Shukla who also serves as the creator of the show has this time written the script along with Abhijeet Khuman, Abhishek Garg, and Chirag Salian.
