Rohit Shetty is on cloud nine after the humongous success his latest release Sooryavanshi has garnered at the box office. The Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer has definitely got the audiences back in theatres after the coronavirus induced lockdown was lifted from cinema halls across the country.
Now, in an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon.com, Rohit has spoken about how he got Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn on board for the climax of Sooryavanshi and how he planned the exhilarating climax with the three stars. He also spoke about roping in the help of Mumbai Police and crediting them for aiding in the making of the film.
Talking about the larger-than-life climax of Sooryavanshi and how he envisioned his three cop heroes- Akshay’s Sooryavanshi, Ajay’s Singham and Ranveer’s Simmba for it, Rohit Said, “Yes yes, a lot of planning had gone. We had shot those scenes for 21 days, the whole madness was like for 21 days. A lot of planning had gone into place, the whole set was created with keeping action in mind, there are scenes also but it was created for the climax and not only for the climax for all the sequences, Akshay was coming back into action after such a long time and the gradually the franchise is growing, that happened with Simmba also and we knew there is going to be a lot of expectations from people and I can’t do the same hand-to-hand combat that was there in Singham or maybe for Simmba, we need to change the styling, we needed to upgrade. And if you see any sequence like the Bangkok sequence, the Jaisalmer sequence or the climax, everything was planned, here we had to plan for more than a month and shooting went on for 21 days.”
The filmmaker also spoke about giving due credit to the Mumbai Police for their role in helping him and described in detail what they brought to the table and said, “A lot of sequences, like how ATS functions, like if you see till the pre-climax nobody is wearing a uniform in the film and there are lot of sequences, obviously we have given a commercial angle to it but lot of sequences like whether it is an arrest or how they track a sleeper cell is real. What you see in the film till the climax, till Ranveer comes, a lot of things are from their experiences, from what they have gone through and their operations, even some of the sequences are real, it’s just that we have made it more commercial and larger-than-life. “
