PeepingMoon Exclusive: Meezaan Jafri and Mouni Roy join Harshvardhan Rane in Sanjay Gupta's next!

On December 9, Peepingmoon.com exclusively informed the readers that filmmaker Sanjay Gupta is gearing up for his next directorial and has signed Sanam Teri Kasam actor Harshvardhan Rane to play the lead role. We also revealed that the film is a sports drama and will see the Mumbai Saga director venturing into a completely different zone than his previous multi-starrer action films he has widely been known for. Now, we heard Gupta has finalized the remaining lead cast of the film as well.

Industry sources have informed us that Sanjay Gupta has signed Javed Jaffrey's son Meezaan, and Gold actress Mouni Roy to play pivotal roles alongside Harshvardhan Rane in this yet-untitled film. Jafri and Rane will play the football players in the film while Mouni Roy plays the leading heroine paired opposite Rane. The actors have signed the film and will start shooting for it in the first quarter of next year," a source close to the development told us.

Harshvardhan Rane is expected to finish Nilesh Sahay's out-and-out actioner Ambush before heading to Gupta's sports drama. Mouni Roy will also wrap up Milan Luthria's Disney+Hotstar series Delhi Sultanate ahead of joining this film. Meezaan Jafri, meanwhile, was seen in Priyadarshan's Hungama 2 in July this year and will try his luck again with the Sanjay Gupta directorial that will be his third feature film since his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali-backed Malaal (2019).
