Director Kabir Khan is basking in well-deserved glory that is coming his way for his film ’83 that is minting money at the box office currently. The Ranveer Singh led film is based on India’s first World Cup win in 1983 and sees the actor essay the role of legendary cricketing icon and former captain Kapil Dev.
Now, in PeepingMoon's Best Of 2021 segment, Kabir spoke about what has made the film appeal to everyone and what the former cricketer told him when he first met him prior to starting shooting ’83. Kabir said, “First thing Kapil Dev told me while making the film, ‘Kabir, I hope you’re making a team film and not a film on me,’ and that’s the spirit we carried throughout the making of ‘83.”
