Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are coming together again! Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Deepika will start shooting for Shah Rukh Khan's highly anticipated Jawan from today. The Atlee Kumar-directed film's new schedule begins today in Chennai, and joining the sets is SRK's favourite Deepika Padukone, who plays his wife in the film.
"Deepika plays a special cameo role which features in the film’s flashback sequences. It's a short but very important role, and Deepika has allotted five days to shoot her sequence. SRK and Deepika have already arrived in Chennai and will start shooting from today, "a source close to the project told us. Deepika, as we revealed earlier, is paired opposite SRK the father, while Nayanthara has a romantic angle with the younger SRK.
The new schedule in Chennai is going to be kind of a star-studded affair for everyone involved with the project. While Deepika joins the sets today, Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the lead antagonist, will commence shooting later this month. Nayanthara, Priyamani, and Yogi Babu are also expected to join the sets in the days to come. "It's over a month long, ambitious shooting schedule for which Atlee and his team have been working on for months. It involves shooting most of the crucial dramatic and action sequences of the film, and everyone from the cast and crew is excited to kick off this new hectic but thrilling shooting leg," the source further said.
Billed as a Pan-India spectacle made on a whopping budget of around 200 crores, Jawan is a commercial action entertainer with a universal story that goes beyond languages and geography and has actions, emotions, and drama all woven into it, making it enjoyable for every kind of audience. The film will be released in theatres worldwide on June 2, 2023.
