Farhad Samji is a multi-tasker! The Housefull 4 and Bachchhan Paandey director is not only shooting for his Salman Khan film, Kisi Ki Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, but simultaneously working on the post-production of a web series. Peepingmoon.com has learned that Samji is making a web series for Disney+Hotstar which stars Kunal Kemmu and Nupur Sanon in the lead roles. The yet-untitled show is said to have already been finished and will premiere early next year.
"It’s a comedy series which Farhad has directed along with his wife, Zukhruf Samji. They are also producing this show under their new banner, Yam Production LLP. The series is a madcap comedy that also highlights a social issue in a very quirky manner," an industry source informed us, adding that the show features an ensemble cast comprising a slew of actors, especially known for their comic roles in mainstream Hindi movies. While Kunal Kemmu and Nupur Sanon play the central roles, Johnny Lever, Chunky Pandey, Rajpal Yadav, and Saurabh Shukla have been roped in to play the other pivotal parts. This show is expected to be Disney+Hotstar’s first full-blown comedy series, which promises to take audiences of this streaming site on a comic ride like never before.

Kunal Kemmu has been finishing all his acting assignments before kicking off his directorial debut, and this Disney+Hotstar series is said to be the most recent project that he has completed. For Nupur Sanon, it’s her second acting gig and the first one on OTT. She is set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Panorama Studios’ Noorani Chehra. The Navaniat Singh-directed film is a quirky love story with a strong social message about being comfortable in your own skin.
Farhad Samji, meanwhile, has already directed two web shows for Ekta Kapoor’s streaming platform Alt Balaji, and his latest comedy series will mark his first association with Disney+Hotstar. The director has previously helmed the Shreyas Talpade-starrer sitcom, Baby Come Naa (2018), and the 2019 horror-comedy, Booo Sabki Phategi, which starred Tusshar Kapoor, Krushna Abhishek, and Mallika Sherawat in the lead. Samji is expected to finish his Salman Khan commercial entertainer by October-end.
