You might be knowing her as Imlie, but now it is time to meet her as Sumbul Touqeer Khan. The actress, who shot to fame with the popular daily soap, will be entertaining her fans from the Bigg Boss 16 house.
In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon.com, Sumbul spoke about her expectations from Bigg Boss 16. For the unversed, the actress, at the age of 18, has become the youngest contestant of the season. Excerpts from the interview:
What’s your expectation from Bigg Boss 16?
I don't have anything in particular. Main bas ek nayi zindagi jeene jaa rahi hu and will come out with many memories and experiences.
Were you approached for any previous season?
No, I was approached for Bigg Boss 16 and I signed it immediately.
You’ve done a TV show. Why did you choose a reality show over fictional ones?
Fiction and non-fiction are two different genres. In the non-fiction genre, you get a lot more time for yourself whereas, in fiction, you are the lead so there's no time to do anything.
In the past, actors have benefitted from Bigg Boss, personally and professionally too. Are you expecting the same?
I am not expecting my career to get a major boost as I am doing to show to live a new life. That's all I wish to do for now. Let's see how things chart out.
It is often said that actors do Bigg Boss either due to lack of income or unemployment. Some are often shamed for it too. Do such notions affect you too?
I really don't believe that I need to do a big show like Bigg Boss 16 only for monetary benefits. My family wanted me to take part in it and so did I. After the success of Imlie, I don't think there's a need for a boost in my career and income.
Are you open to finding love on the show?
Yes, I think I can find love on the show and that’s the trophy!
Who is your favourite previous contestant?
I haven't watched much of Bigg Boss in the past but the person I liked was Dolly Bindra.
