Just when the game inside the Bigg Boss 16 house was taking a new turn, Sreejita De had to face an unfortunate and unexpected eviction. She became the first contestant to exit the house. On the show hosted by Salman Khan, the actress put forth a strong fight against the odds and took up stands for what she felt was fair.
In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon.com, Sreejita called her eviction shocking. The actress further opened up about why Gori Nagori deserved to be out of the show, her discomfort with Tinaa Dattaa and plans to expose her and Shalin Bhanot if given a chance to re-enter Bigg Boss 16.

You are the first contestant to be evicted. Disappointed?
Yes, it is disappointing and I was rather shocked. I am still unable to believe that I am not in the house. Just a night before the elimination, we were speculating who could be out. None of them thought I would. The way the game was turning out inside the house, it was a shock for me and everyone else. It is sad and I am still unable to connect with the outside world. I feel as though my physical body is in the real world, and my presence of mind is still inside the house.
Who should have been evicted instead of you?
I feel Gori Nagori. She was a different person in the first week; polite and nice to everyone. In the second week, as soon as those 5 boys danced with her, her attitude changed completely. She felt she has to create some issues and poke someone to be in the house. She feels that’s called involvement because most of her fights sounded insensible, and stupid and weren’t required. Otherwise, she is just sitting with MC Stan and gossiping. What is her stand in the house? Where was she positioning herself in the house? Nowhere.
Did she come across to you as fake?
Yes, indeed. Initially, she pretended to be a very sweet and nice person. On the third day, she hugged me and did 2 days of yoga with me. Suddenly, in the common area, she hugged me and said, "I love you". I felt that was fake because how can you say I love you to a person in just 3 days? In response, I said, "I like you". She replied, “Arey maine tujhe I love you bola aur tune mujhe nahi kaha.” To end the topic, I said, "Accha theek hai, I love you too". Everybody in the house noticed a 180-degree change in her. During the nomination, she started crying because she didn’t get the room for 2; Tinaa Dattaa and Soundarya Sharma got it. She said, "Main sabse pehle nikal jaungi ghar se. Mujhe voh room dekhna hai." She herself believed that she was a weak contestant. Despite our differences, I motivated her to think positive.
Did you sense groupism in the house?
There was a group of Gori Nagori, MC Stan, Shiv Thakare and maybe Archana Gautam. The rest were on the other side but there was no group. Otherwise, Shalin Bhanot and Gautam Vig wouldn’t have picked a fight so soon. I am against Shalin ever since the chicken thing happened. I felt he has a fake personality. From our end, we didn’t have a group but there was certainly a connection between Nimrit Ahluwalia, Gautam and me. You cannot connect with all 16 contestants. You find the kind of people with whom you can speak. Otherwise, you’ll go mad.
Manya Singh took a dig at TV actors. Did you feel it was unnecessary?
Of course, it was unnecessary and that’s why I gave it back to her. Two days after the incident when we sat together, I told her that har saal 3 ladkiyan Miss India banti hai. Definitely, it is a matter of pride and we cannot deny that but agar tu usmein atki rahi na aur adi rahi toh zindagi mein aage kya ho raha hai aur aafe badhne ki chahat hoti hai voh kam hoti hai. Apne andar itna pride aur ahankar bhara hua hote hue aage dekhna hi nahi chahti. You are yourself on a television show. Tumhe jaise lagta hai karodo ladkiya aati hai Miss India banne, lakhon ladke ladkiya Mumbai aate hai actor banne ka sapna leke. It is not a good feeling when a few cannot make it and a few can. Sabke apne profession mein achievements hai aur isiliye yaha aaye hai toh respect karni chahiye.
Was it uncomfortable living under the same roof as Tinaa Datta?
Of course, it was not very good. She definitely made me uncomfortable on many occasions. I could see she was having power over a few people. Maybe, she was trying to manipulate and brainwash a few people. I noticed people who casually spoke to me, started walking away from me after a few days. Obviously, she was trying to play those politics to sideline and corner me which she couldn’t achieve. It was uncomfortable because we don’t gel well. I feel she has an immature and petty approach to certain things.

If given a chance to re-enter the house, would you take it?
Of course, I would love to take it. It was an abrupt eviction and I have this feeling that certain things are yet to be finished and to complete those. Kuch kuch logon ko benaqab karna hai aur unki asliyat samne lana. Kuch kuch log toh expose hone hi lage hai. I want to fight on their face and expose them.
Who are those people?
You’ll get to see that once I re-enter. One of them is Tinaa and if Shalin survives till then….
